DDF Products Reviewed :

Silky C  Bio-Active Nourishing Serum

I don't know that much about DDF (Doctors Dermatological Formula), since they have no web site. This is another skin care line that is sponsored by a dermatologist, who guarantees everything they do is "scientific". The line is top-heavy with acne fighting products (with lots of glycolic acid), and seems just now to be branching out into more sophisticated anti-aging care. You can buy products in the line at Sephora. .

Silky C Lotion

Ingredients:

Retinol, soy, lutein

This is a golden-hued lotion that contains the anti-age factor Retinol (vitamin A), soy and the powerful antioxidant lutein (found in marigolds, of all places). The consistency is thick and emollient, and for the first minute on your face it seems very moisturizing. But after the first minute it absorbs well and leaves your skin feeling natural. There is no tingling or burning, so you won't think you have NSU on your face. I've used this for a week straight now during the day, and the results are impressive. My complexion is clear, even-toned and very fresh looking. And, most importantly, not at all dried out. There is also a subtle lifting effect, but not to the point where you look like Jocelyn Wildenstein. I would highly recommend this product for guys in their thirties and forties who just want their skin to look healthier. And, at $60, the price is quite reasonable for a retinol product. Just skip getting a room at the baths for a few weeks, and you'll be able to afford it. "Silky C" sounds like the name of a rapper drag queen, but it does deliver the goods. Perfect for those mornings when the top of the K-hole is just too high to reach, but you have to look your best anyway.

Bio-Active Nourishing Serum
author: Niall | date: Dec 2000

Size

Price

$52

Where

Sephora

Ingredients:

Purified water, algae extract, jojoba oil, botanical oils, emulsifier, glycerin, grapefruit oil, clary sage oil, lavender oil, tea tree oil, cypress oil, geranium oil, ginkgo biloba extract, lipodermal, sodium hyaluronate, ginkgo biloba, gotu kola extract, lactic acid, lipacide LML, phenonip

This lotion is designed to provide a dose of vitamins, antioxidants and hydration to the skin. But on my dry skin it just made it much, much drier. Looking at the ingredients, it contains many drying and potentially irritating ingredients for sensitive skin, such as mine (tea tree oil, sage oil, cypress oil). Also the scent is somehwt overwhelming. You'll feel like a hooker when you put it on, which might be just what some of you are looking for. Anyway, if you have dry or sensitive skin, this product is definitely not for you. If you have oily skin, however, it may be just the trick.
