Matis Products Reviewed :

La Nuit Le Soin - Serum Extreme Creme Somptueuse

Matis is an extensive French skin and body care line that is almost invisible in the US. I've never seen its products in stores here; but you can purchase almost the whole line at www.dots2.com. This invisibility is unfortunate, since Matis products are not only very high quality, but very, very reasonably priced. We are reviewing below some of their more expensive products, but note that these are about half the price of similar (and similarly effective) products made by competing lines with more visibility. I can highly recommend Matis products from personal experience.

You reach a point in life where you realize you can't really look young anymore. At first this is a little sad, leading to brief bouts of yoga and spirulina, but this realization eventually makes you look more closely at what actual young people look like, and then your spirits soar. Young people's skin is really no better in general. Primarily because they refuse to take care of it, and so extinguish the brief solar flare of their jeunesse under a layer of oil interrupted by a Rocky Mountain range of zits, or under a layer of sunburnt skin that will, in a few years, turn into naugahyde wrinkled in patterns suggestive of geologic activity on Mars. When you internalize this little piece of truth, you refocus your concerns on how healthy your skin looks, not on how young it looks. Because healthy skin is what makes you look good in the absence of wealth or a good-looking boyfriend. That's when you reach for La Nuit Cremem Regenerante (don't expect me to include all those French accents). The ingredient list alone makes it stand out as a unique product. I've never seen a cream that had tamarind seed extract, and I have not knowingly before used a product containing fish eggs. The cream is medium weight with a nice light scent. When you apply it, it lingers on the skin, forming a nice layer of moisture, which then disappears after about twenty minutes. OK, at this point nothing all that special. Then go to sleep, wake up and look in the mirror (if you can find someone to remove the leather hood and ball gag). Your skin will literally be glowing with health. I can't really explain it. But my cheeks are as dry as Clinton's reservoir of ethics and as sensitive as an erect penis, and can often get blotchy even without heavy influsions of alcohol. Well, all of that disappeared after just one application of La Nuit. I looked relaxed, healthy and happy. All the benefits of hot sex, with no one to lie to in the bright light of morning. La Nuit is neither drying nor oily, and has never caused a reaction on my sensitive skin, so just about anyone should be able to use it. Very best of all, I see no difference between the effects of La Nuit, and those of La Mer cream, though the latter is twice the price. So save some shekels and buy La Nuit instead. It will make you forget all about looking young, and make the young remember you wherever you go.

This is a more intense version of La Nuit, and for full comments please see the review of that product above. Again, a great product with amazing results. This formula is quite concentrated, and has led to some tingling a few times, but no irritation. The one drawback to this product for me is that it is a little drying on the cheeks. Though that makes it a good alternative for boys with oilier skin for whom La Nuit would be a little too much lube in the wrong place. Buy with confidence!.

I first used this cream when I received it as a sample with an order from Dots2.com. I had just shaved, and my skin was irritated and quite red. So I tried the sample of Creme Somptueuse and, to my surprise, the irritation and redness completely disappeared in about half an hour. Just think what it could do for your butt cheeks after a night out. But seriously, this is a very rich moisturizing cream, which also has very strong soothing properties for the skin. It is probably too heavy for people with oily skin, but everyone else should enjoy it. There is really only one drawback: the scent. It is very strong and a little on the sweet side for me. It is almost as strong as a cologne. This makes it unlikely as a day cream, unless you want to go to meetings at work smelling like the inside of your aunt's purse. Otherwise, highly recommended for dry or sensitive skin.
